Terms of Service

Last updated: October 2025

Agreement to Terms

By using Tidynote, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app. It's that simple.

What Tidynote Does

Tidynote is a desktop application that transcribes and summarizes audio using local AI models. All processing happens on your device - no cloud, no uploads, no data collection.

Your Responsibilities

  • Use the app in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Don't use the app for illegal activities
  • Respect the privacy of others when recording
  • Keep your app updated for security and performance

Beta Software

Tidynote is currently in beta. This means it may have bugs, incomplete features, or other issues. Use at your own risk. We're not liable for any problems that arise from using beta software.

Intellectual Property

Tidynote and its software are our intellectual property. You get a license to use the app, not ownership of it. Your prompts, messages and data remain yours.

Limitation of Liability

Since all processing happens locally on your device, we can't be responsible for data loss, transcription errors, or other issues that arise from local processing. Use the app responsibly and keep backups of important data.

Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your data (spoiler: we don't collect much because everything happens locally).

Termination

You can stop using Tidynote anytime. We can stop providing the service with reasonable notice. Since everything is local, stopping the service doesn't affect your existing application.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms occasionally. We'll notify users of significant changes. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

TL;DR

Use Tidynote responsibly, don't do anything illegal, and remember it's beta software. Your data stays on your device, so you're responsible for it. We're not liable for local processing issues.
